October is one of Wuhu's best months for getting around. Days feel mild rather than sticky, while evenings turn cool. The high is around 24°C and the low around 13°C. Rain falls on about eight days, so a shower may interrupt an outdoor plan, but it's much drier than September.

You'll have comfortable conditions for wandering around Jinghu Park or taking in views of the Yangtze. October also suits a day at Fantawild, where you can move between rides without summer's heavier heat. Long hikes aren't the main draw here, but the cooler air makes exploring the city on foot easier.

Holidays and crowds

China's National Day holiday begins on October 1 and usually brings a week of domestic travel. Wuhu's popular sights and transport can feel much busier then, and accommodation prices may rise compared with quieter months. After the holiday, the city generally settles down, making the rest of October a better bet for a relaxed visit.
