Wuhu Weather in June

June: warm and very wet

June feels hot, sticky and often cloudy in Wuhu. Days reach 31°C, while nights stay warm at around 22°C. Rain falls on 14 days, and the air is humid. You may get a clear spell, but don't count on long sunny afternoons.

Sightseeing still works between showers. Explore Wuhu Ancient City, then duck into a tea shop if rain sets in. The Yangtze riverfront is pleasant when clouds break, but wet paths and poor comfort make long walks less appealing. Save outdoor plans for a dry window, and have an indoor stop ready.

Festivals and crowds

The Dragon Boat Festival sometimes falls in June, though its date changes each year. You'll find zongzi, sticky rice wrapped in leaves, around the holiday. Local events may include dragon-boat races, but they aren't guaranteed across the whole month.

If you hate crowds, avoid travelling on the festival holiday itself. Otherwise, June is usually quieter than October, Wuhu's best-weather month. Rain can mean better value than the autumn peak, but holiday demand may briefly lift prices.

Make rain work for you

Travelling with kids? Keep a rainy-day option handy; Wuhu's amusement parks are harder to enjoy in steady downpours. June brings 202 mm of rain, more than May but less than July, so showers can interrupt a full day outside.

For a practical local plan, visit Wuhu Ancient City when the weather is dry, then use the covered arcades and nearby shops for shelter if rain starts.
