April: mild, damp spring

Qingming and crowds

Qingming, the Tomb-Sweeping holiday, falls in early April. Families visit graves and many people travel, so trains and popular sights can be busier around the holiday. Outside that period, April is generally quieter than Guilin's October-to-December peak season, and accommodation is often less costly.
