December feels chilly

You'll get some sunshine, but daylight is short, so aim for outdoor visits in the middle of the day.

Yushan Mountain and the paths around Shanghu Lake still make good outings on dry days. Expect a brisk walk rather than a long, warm afternoon by the water.
