If you hate crowds, go to Dolac Market earlier in the day, then wander down the steps to Tkalčićeva Street. For a local snack, try štrukli, a baked pastry filled with cheese, at a restaurant in the Upper Town. Don't leave the walk back for a rainy evening: the cobbled lanes can feel slippery.
