February is sunny, dry and warm, with afternoons reaching 33°C and nights cooling to 15°C. Rain is unlikely, so it's a good month for exploring Ahmedabad's old city, visiting Adalaj Stepwell or walking along the Sabarmati Riverfront.

The midday sun can feel strong, though. Save longer outdoor visits for morning or late afternoon, and use the hottest part of the day for the Calico Museum or a relaxed lunch. March gets hotter, while January is cooler.

Festivals and crowds

There's no major fixed festival that fills Ahmedabad each February. Maha Shivratri sometimes falls in the month; dates change each year, and local temple visits can add a lively note to your trip.

December and January are the city's most comfortable months, so February usually feels quieter than that peak. You may find accommodation demand easing, though pleasant weather still draws visitors. If you hate crowds, February is a good time to explore Manek Chowk without the busiest winter-season feel.

Make the most of your visit

Try a morning walk through the pols, the old city's tightly packed residential lanes, before the heat builds. Then pause for a Gujarati thali or a plate of khaman, a soft savoury snack, in the old city.

At Sabarmati Ashram, go earlier in the day to see the exhibits and Gandhi's former home before the afternoon sun feels tiring. For an easy evening, take a stroll beside the river, where the air is cooler and the city's pace softens.
