Warm days, cool evenings

February is one of Indore's easier months for getting out and about. Afternoons reach 31°C, so the sun can feel strong while you're exploring Rajwada Palace or walking around the old city. Evenings cool to 13°C, making dinner at Sarafa Bazaar more comfortable.

Rain is rare, and the air is relatively dry. That suits sightseeing and a day trip to the ancient temples at Ujjain. Save longer outdoor walks for morning or late afternoon, and avoid spending the hottest part of the day on exposed streets.

Festivals and local plans

Maha Shivratri may fall in February, depending on the year. If it does, expect extra worshippers at Indore's temples, including Khajrana Ganesh Temple. The holiday follows a lunar calendar, so its date changes.

If you hate crowds, visit Khajrana on an ordinary weekday rather than during the festival. For a local evening, try poha-jalebi for breakfast or browse the food stalls at Sarafa after they open at night.

Crowds and practical tips

November to January is Indore's best-weather stretch, so February sits just beyond the busiest winter period. You'll usually find fewer visitors than in those peak months, though weekends and festival days can still be lively. Prices may ease a little after the winter rush, but they vary by hotel and event.

Travelling with kids? Aim for Rajwada in the morning, before the warmer afternoon makes its courtyards less pleasant. At Sarafa, go later in the evening: the market is known for street food, and stalls get going after nearby jewellery shops close.
