Paphos Weather in June

June: long, sunny days

June feels properly summery in Paphos. Afternoons are hot and bright, while evenings stay warm enough for a harbour walk. Rain is rare, and the long daylight gives you time for a swim after sightseeing.

The sea and shaded breaks make beach time and relaxed meals in Kato Paphos easy to enjoy. The open paths at the Paphos Archaeological Park can feel punishing in the afternoon, though. Save the mosaics and Roman ruins for earlier or later in the day, and avoid a long, exposed walk when the sun is strongest.

Festival time

Kataklysmos, Cyprus's Flood Festival, often falls in June. It's linked to the Orthodox calendar, so its date changes each year. In Paphos, look for celebrations around the harbour, with music and water-themed fun. It's a lively local event, but the waterfront can get crowded.

Crowds and costs

June is a shoulder between quieter spring and the busiest summer months. It's generally busier and pricier than April or May, but often less crowded than July and August. Early June can feel calmer than the end of the month, when summer travel picks up.

For an easy visit to the Tombs of the Kings, go when it opens or later in the day. The site has little shade, so you'll enjoy its underground chambers and carved tombs more when you're not crossing the open ground in the midday heat. Afterward, head to Kato Paphos for a cool drink by the water.
