Larnaca Weather in June

June: hot, bright days

June feels like full summer in Larnaca. Afternoons reach 30°C, with warm nights around 24°C. Rain is rare, and long, sunny days make it easy to spend time by the sea. The water and shade at Finikoudes Beach offer a welcome break from walking around the town.

Visit Larnaca Fort and the Church of Saint Lazarus in the morning, then save the hottest hours for lunch or a swim. Long walks in the open sun can feel tiring by afternoon. June is also too hot for comfortable sightseeing all day without a beach or café break.

Festival by the seafront

Larnaca's Kataklysmos festival, also called the Festival of the Flood, is held around Pentecost, which can fall in June. Expect music, dancing and water-themed celebrations near the seafront, especially around Finikoudes. It's a lively local event, but the waterfront gets busier while it's on.

If you hate crowds, enjoy Finikoudes early in the day and head to Mackenzie Beach later, where you can watch planes come in over the water.

Crowds and costs

June brings more visitors than the quieter spring months, as beach weather draws people to Larnaca. It's still before the busiest stretch of summer, so the town is generally less packed than in July and August. Prices can rise from spring levels, especially around the festival and at seafront hotels.

For a practical beach break, take the coastal path from Finikoudes towards Mackenzie. You can stop for a swim or a meal, then return when the sun is lower. Try a table near the water for grilled fish or halloumi, rather than walking inland during the hottest part of the day.
