Paphos Weather in July

July: hot, bright days

Paphos in July is dry, sunny and properly hot. Daytime highs reach 33°C, while nights stay warm at 25°C. Rain is almost absent, and the long daylight makes evenings feel unhurried. The heat can make exposed sightseeing tiring, especially around the stone ruins of Kato Paphos Archaeological Park.

Plan beach time or a swim for the warmer part of the day, then explore the harbour or Tombs of the Kings later. The coastal path is pleasant in the evening, but a long walk across open ground at midday can feel punishing.

What to do, and when

If you hate crowds, July may not be your month. It's peak summer holiday season, with families and beachgoers adding to the busy feel around Coral Bay and Paphos Harbour. Hotels and flights tend to cost more than in the milder months, especially April to June and October to November.

There's no major July festival I'd count on as a reason to visit. Instead, enjoy a slow dinner of grilled fish or meze near the harbour, when the day's heat begins to ease. Travelling with kids? Keep the Tombs of the Kings visit short, then cool off at a nearby beach.

A local tip for July

At the Paphos Archaeological Park, the mosaics are wonderful, but much of the site has little shade. Visit late in the day, when the light is softer and the walk between sights feels less harsh. You'll also be close to the harbour for a cool drink afterwards.

July is a good fit if you want reliable beach weather and don't mind the heat or summer prices. For cooler sightseeing, choose a different month.
