The dry, sunny weather suits outdoor sightseeing and garden visits. Rain is uncommon, though a brief shower is possible.

You'll want to avoid long walks in the afternoon heat, especially around the open grounds of Badshahi Mosque. September is hotter and much wetter, while November is cooler and drier. October is a good middle ground, but it isn't as comfortable as the best months, November to February.

Events and crowds

There's no fixed major annual festival that defines October in Lahore. Islamic holidays follow the lunar calendar, so dates shift each year and a holiday may fall in October some years. That can affect opening hours and local travel.

It's easier than walking across exposed roads in the heat, and the route gives you a close look at the old neighbourhood. Don't expect the cool feel of November yet; late afternoons can still be sticky.
