July feels hot and wet

Jinan's July afternoons are hot, sticky and often interrupted by rain. The high reaches 33°C, humidity is 73%, and rain falls on 18 days. Showers can disrupt long walks, while cloud and limited sunshine make the heat feel close.

Choose shorter visits to Baotu Spring or Daming Lake, with breaks indoors between sights. Avoid planning a full day on exposed trails at Qianfo Mountain; wet paths and muggy air can make the climb tiring. The cooler evenings suit a stroll around the lake or a meal on Furong Street.

Summer crowds and costs

July is summer, and school holidays bring more families to Jinan's popular sights. Expect busier paths at Baotu Spring and Daming Lake than in quieter shoulder-season months. Rooms and flights can also cost more than in April and May or September and October.
