Visiting Hua Hin in July
July weather in Hua Hin
July feels hot, sticky and often grey. The high is 30°C, with warm nights and rain on 28 days. June is a little hotter and wetter weather continues into August, so July isn't a dry break between monsoon spells. You'll see little sunshine, and showers can interrupt beach time or slow outdoor sightseeing.
You can still stroll Hua Hin's railway station or browse the shops between showers. Keep plans flexible, and don't count on long, sunny stretches at the beach. A day trip to Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park is less appealing when trails are wet and skies are cloudy.
July events
Asalha Bucha and Khao Phansa, the start of Buddhist Lent, sometimes fall in July. Their dates follow the lunar calendar, so they don't happen in July every year. If either takes place during your visit, temples may hold ceremonies and some shops may close early.
Hua Hin doesn't have a major annual July festival to build your trip around. The weekend Cicada Market is a more dependable evening outing, though rain can make its outdoor stalls less comfortable.
Crowds and a local tip
July is low season compared with December and January, Hua Hin's best-weather months. You'll usually find fewer holiday visitors and softer hotel rates. Thai weekend trips can still fill the town, especially around the beach and night markets.
If you hate crowds, visit midweek; the quieter pace suits a rainy-day break. Travelling with kids? Save the Hua Hin Railway Station for a shower, then head to the nearby market when the rain eases. The station's carved wooden buildings are worth a look even when the beach isn't.
