August is hot, bright and reliably dry in Fortaleza. Days reach 30°C, and nights stay warm at around 25°C. Rain is rare, so you can plan beach time or a walk along Beira-Mar without worrying much about showers.

Festa de Iemanjá takes place around Praia de Iracema on August 15. People gather to honour Iemanjá, a sea goddess in Afro-Brazilian religions, with offerings and ceremonies. Be respectful around rituals, and expect the area to feel busier than usual.

If you hate crowds, August is often calmer than July, when Brazilian school holidays bring more family travel. Prices may ease after that holiday rush, though Fortaleza remains popular during its sunny season, which runs from July to December.
