December brings Christmas and New Year celebrations, with services and seasonal decorations around Rhodes Town. You'll find a more local feel than during the summer tourist season, though some smaller businesses and island excursions may run less often.

If you hate crowds, this is a calmer time to explore the Old Town and Lindos. The trade-off is that beach towns feel sleepy, and some restaurants may close for the winter. Pack your days around the weather rather than expecting every attraction or boat trip to be available.

Rhodes is well outside its peak summer crowds in December, and accommodation is generally cheaper than in the busy months.
