December is cool and mostly dry by Peshawar standards. Days reach about 21°C, while evenings can fall to 7°C. Rain is limited to around three days, so you'll usually have good conditions for walking around the old city or visiting Peshawar Museum. The short days mean there's less time for sightseeing, and the chill after sunset makes long outdoor evenings less appealing.

If you hate crowds, December is a comfortable time to explore Qissa Khwani Bazaar without peak-season pressure.

What to do

Spend the milder part of the day wandering the lanes around Mahabat Khan Mosque, then settle in for a Peshawari chapli kebab. The dry spells also suit a trip to Bala Hisar Fort, though access can be restricted, so don't count on touring inside.
