May feels warm, increasingly humid and a little changeable. Afternoons can reach 28°C, while evenings are milder. Rain comes on several days, so a shower may interrupt a walk, but it rarely defines the whole visit.

The mix suits city sightseeing: explore the Confucius Temple area and Qinhuai River, then take a break indoors if the air feels sticky.
