March weather in Nadi

March is hot, sticky and very wet. Days reach about 29°C, and nights stay warm at around 26°C. Rain falls on most days, with thick cloud and little sunshine, so beach time can be interrupted by showers. February is also hot and wet, while April is a little cooler and drier.

You can still enjoy Nadi's Sri Siva Subramaniya temple or browse Nadi Market between showers. But don't count on long, sunny stretches for Denarau's beaches or boat trips. Heavy rain can also make outdoor plans less comfortable.

Events and quieter days

Holi, the Hindu festival of colours, often falls in March, though its date changes each year. Nadi has a large Indo-Fijian community, so you may find local celebrations. Ask locally about events during your stay; they aren't held on the same date every year.

If you hate crowds, March may suit you. It's outside Fiji's popular July and August travel season, so Nadi is generally quieter and you may find better-value stays. The trade-off is less reliable weather, not a guaranteed sunny break.

Make the most of a shower

Travelling with kids? Keep a flexible day in mind: a sudden downpour can cut short time at the beach, but Nadi town's market and temple offer useful alternatives.

For a temple visit, choose Sri Siva Subramaniya in Nadi town and remove your shoes before entering. Wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees. If the rain lets up, you can head back towards Denarau, but leave boat and beach plans open to change.
