June weather in Nadi

June feels warm, humid and a little changeable. Days reach 27°C, with 23°C nights, and rain falls on about 12 days. It's drier than May, though showers can still interrupt a beach afternoon. There's around five hours of sunshine a day, so keep a flexible plan.

You can explore the Garden of the Sleeping Giant or take a boat trip from Port Denarau between showers. For a longer beach day, the Mamanuca Islands are still an option, but don't count on every day being clear. June is less suited to plans that need uninterrupted sunshine.

Events and crowds

Fiji's King's Birthday is marked with a public holiday in June. It's a local observance, rather than a major Nadi festival. The Bula Festival is usually held later in the year, so don't expect its parades and events during your June visit.

June starts Fiji's busier dry-season period. You'll generally find more visitors and higher prices than in the wetter months, but it's usually calmer than July and August, Nadi's most popular months. If you hate crowds, June is a useful middle ground before the peak.

Getting around Nadi in June

Travelling with kids? A shower doesn't have to spoil the day: the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple in central Nadi is a good short visit between beach plans. Dress modestly, and ask before taking photos inside.

For a practical local tip, use Nadi Town as your base for a meal of kokoda, Fiji's marinated fish dish, before heading back to Denarau. It's an easy way to fit local food into a day focused on the resorts and boats.
