Jeju City Weather in June

June: mild, damp days

June feels warm rather than hot, with highs around 22°C and lows around 20°C. But humidity is high, clouds are common, and rain falls on 12 days. You may get a bright spell, then a sudden shower. The sea air can feel sticky, so keep long outdoor walks flexible.

Short visits to Yongduam Rock or the old streets near Dongmun Market can still work between showers. For a wet afternoon, browse the market or visit the Jeju National Museum. Save long Hallasan hikes for a clearer day; cloud and rain can make trails less pleasant and views hard to see.

Events and crowds

June 6 is Memorial Day, a national holiday in South Korea. Some public services may close, while popular sights can draw local visitors. Jeju City doesn't have a major June festival that reliably fills the calendar, so the month is usually calmer than the main summer rush.

Families who prefer quieter streets may like June before school summer holidays bring more domestic visitors in July and August. Stays and flights are often less costly than in peak summer, though prices vary. June is not as dry or sunny as October, one of Jeju's best months overall.

A local tip

Keep a rainy-day plan close to the city centre. Dongmun Market is a good stop for tangerines, seafood and gogi-guksu, a pork-noodle soup linked with Jeju. It's lively under cover, so showers don't have to end your day.

For a coastal break, take a short outing to Yongduam Rock rather than committing to a long exposed walk. Check the sky before heading out, then duck back into the city if rain sets in. June has long daylight, but only a few hours of sun on an average day.
