It isn't the driest time, though. If you can flex your dates, May to August is the better window. Families who want park time without intense heat will likely find April comfortable, as long as the showers don't ruin the day.

Getting around

For a practical rainy-day plan, take the CPTM Line 13-Jade train from the airport and change at Engenheiro Goulart for central São Paulo. That gives you an indoor city option without relying on a long walk outside.

Closer to home, SESC Guarulhos is a useful cultural stop when the weather turns. Between errands, try a local bakery for pão de queijo, a cheese roll that's easy to eat on the go. April's cooler evenings also make a sit-down meal more appealing than in the hotter months. Just check holiday opening times before you head out.
