June weather by the sea

June feels warm and sunny in Budva, with daytime highs around 26°C and evenings near 18°C. You'll get long days for swimming, wandering the Old Town and taking a boat trip along the coast. The sea is warming up, though it may still feel cool at first.

Rain can interrupt a beach day, with showers on about 10 days. May is wetter, while July is hotter and drier. If rain rolls in, duck into the lanes around the Church of St John or visit the Citadel instead of waiting on the sand.

Crowds and summer events

June is the start of summer season, so Budva gets busier as the month goes on. It's usually easier to find a quieter stretch of sand than in July, when the heat and holiday crowds build. Prices also tend to rise from May into June, then climb further in July and August.

If you hate crowds, visit Mogren Beach on a weekday, before the busiest part of the day. Travelling with kids? The calmer start to summer can make beach days easier than in peak season.

A handy local tip

Walk from the Old Town towards Mogren Beach along the coastal path beneath the cliffs. It's a lovely way to reach the beach without relying on a car, and you'll get views back towards Budva's stone walls. After swimming, head back for dinner in the Old Town's narrow lanes, where the shade makes the early evening feel comfortable.
