October feels mild rather than summery in Budva. Days can reach 20°C, but evenings cool to around 13°C. You'll get useful sunshine for walking, though rain arrives on about 10 days, so beach plans can be interrupted. September is warmer and a little drier; November is cooler and wetter.

The Old Town's stone lanes, the Citadel and the coastal path towards Bečići all work well on clear days. Swimming and long beach afternoons are less dependable, so don't make them the whole trip. After rain, choose a relaxed meal in the Old Town instead of a boat outing.

Budva's Days of Širun is a local fish festival held in October. Širun is a small fish, usually grilled, and the event is a good chance to try it near the Old Town. Dates can vary, so check locally before shaping your visit around it.

If you hate crowds, October is a welcome change from the busy summer months. The beaches and lanes are quieter, and accommodation often costs less than in peak season. Some seasonal beach bars and boat services may have closed, though, so the resort can feel subdued.

If the weather turns, the narrow lanes around Trg od Crkve offer sheltered stops between the Citadel and a meal. With roughly seven hours of sun a day, you can still fit in sightseeing; just leave room to swap an outdoor plan when showers arrive.
