When the weather turns, Cubbon Park and the galleries around MG Road are good places to spend the afternoon. Keep long walks around Lalbagh Botanical Garden flexible, and don't count on a clear day for a trip to Nandi Hills.

Events and crowds

World Music Day and International Yoga Day both fall on June 21. Bengaluru may host concerts and yoga events that day, but the programme changes each year, so check listings before you plan around them. June is also when school terms often resume, so family travel can feel quieter than during school holidays.

If you hate crowds, June is a calmer choice than December or January, Bengaluru's best months overall. Hotels may also cost less than in those popular months, though prices vary by event and neighbourhood.

For getting around, the Namma Metro between MG Road and Cubbon Park is a good option when rain slows road traffic. The stations put you close to both areas, so you can shorten a damp walk. Afterwards, try a hot masala dosa at a nearby restaurant.
