April: hot afternoons

April feels hot, especially in the afternoon, when highs reach 35°C. Evenings cool to around 21°C, so they're more comfortable for a walk around Indiranagar or dinner on Church Street. Rain falls on about seven days, but showers usually don't define the whole day. The weather is fair rather than ideal for long outings.

You can enjoy Cubbon Park or Lalbagh in the cooler part of the day, then save indoor sights for the afternoon. Skip long, exposed walks around Bengaluru Palace when the sun is strong. May brings much heavier rain, so April is less likely to disrupt plans with wet weather.

Festivals and quieter streets

If you hate crowds, April can feel calmer than the popular December and January travel season. Local schools often have summer holidays, though, so family attractions may be busier. Rates vary, but you may find less competition for rooms than in the peak winter months.

Travelling with kids? Keep the outdoor part of your day focused on one nearby place, rather than crossing the city in the afternoon. Bengaluru traffic can make even short trips feel long in the heat.
