Baoshan Weather in October

October feels mild

Baoshan has comfortable autumn weather in October. Days reach about 23°C, while evenings cool to around 16°C. Rain falls on about seven days, so showers can interrupt a day out, but this is much drier than September. The air can still feel humid, and skies aren't always clear.

It's a good month for walking around Wusong Paotaiwan National Forest Park or exploring Baoshan's riverside sights. You'll get cooler conditions for sightseeing than in summer, though cloud can soften the views. Save a long outdoor plan for a day with a clear forecast, and keep indoor stops in reserve.

National Day crowds

China's National Day holiday starts in October, bringing a busy travel period across the country. Shanghai's popular sights and transport can feel crowded, especially during the holiday week. Hotels and fares may cost more then than later in the month or in quieter months.

If you hate crowds, visit Baoshan after the holiday week. You'll still get pleasant autumn weather, with fewer holidaymakers around. October is one of Baoshan's best months overall, so don't expect the whole month to feel empty.

Make time for the river

For a local outing, head to Wusong Paotaiwan National Forest Park, where the Huangpu River meets the Yangtze. The open waterfront makes a pleasant walk in October's mild weather. On rainy or cloudy days, the river views may be less striking, so pair the park with a visit to Baoshan Temple instead.

Travelling with kids? The park's open paths give them room to move, but check the weather before setting out. October has around 11 hours of daylight, though the shorter autumn days mean it's worth leaving time to get back before evening.
