July: hot and sticky

July in Baoshan is hot, humid and often rainy. The average high reaches 32°C, and nights stay warm at around 26°C. Rain falls on many days, while thick cloud and limited sunshine can make the air feel heavy. June is wetter, but July is still a poor month for comfort.

July's long daylight gives you time to explore, but heat and rain can make full days tiring. Keep walks short and flexible, and don't count on a clear view across the Huangpu River. For a calmer city break, consider visiting in April or October instead.

At Wusong Paotaiwan Wetland Forest Park, check the paths after heavy rain before setting off. The park's wetland boardwalks are more pleasant when they're dry, and a brief shower can leave them slippery. If the weather turns, head back towards central Baoshan for a museum visit rather than waiting it out outdoors.
