May feels properly warm by afternoon, but evenings can still be cool. The weather is usually comfortable for walks around the wetlands and city sights. There's enough rain for a few damp days, so wetland paths may feel muddy; save long outdoor outings for clearer spells.

With long daylight, you can spend more time at the Yancheng National Nature Reserve, known for its coastal wetlands and rare birds. May is a better fit for birdwatching and sightseeing than for a day focused on swimming. It's warmer and wetter than April, but not as hot or rainy as June.
