October is one of Weifang's best months for a visit. Days feel mild, with highs around 22°C, while evenings cool to about 10°C. Rain is limited, so you can spend time at Shihu Garden or walk around the old city without planning your day around showers.

The comfortable weather also suits a trip to Yangjiabu Folk Art Grand View Garden, where you can see traditional kite-making and woodblock printing. It's less suited to long beach days, and the cooler evenings can feel chilly if you're sitting outside.

Travelling with kids? Try a kite-making activity at Yangjiabu, then keep the finished kite for a breezy day. One local tip: don't expect to fly it in the museum. Head instead to a suitable open space, such as the broad grounds around the Fuhua amusement park, and check local rules before launching.
