Vaduz Weather in April

April feels changeable

Vaduz is in spring, but April can still feel chilly and damp. Afternoons reach around 12°C, while mornings and evenings can fall to 2°C. Rain is common, and cloud often softens the mountain views.

You can browse the pedestrian centre, visit the Liechtenstein National Museum, or walk up to the outside of Vaduz Castle for views over town. The castle itself isn't open to visitors. After rain, steep paths can be slippery, so skip a long hillside walk if the ground is wet. May is warmer, but also wetter.

Easter is the main holiday period to note. Church services take place, and some shops and services may close over the holiday weekend. Check opening times before making a museum or restaurant your main plan.

If you hate crowds, April is a calmer choice than the popular June-to-October season. You'll generally find fewer visitors than in summer, and accommodation may cost less than during peak months. It's still worth checking prices for Easter, when holiday travel can bring more people.

For a local tip, follow the path from central Vaduz toward the castle only as far as conditions feel comfortable. You can turn back for shelter and a warm meal in town. Try käsknöpfle, a local pasta dish with cheese and fried onions, at a Vaduz restaurant. April's mix of showers and cool air makes a flexible day plan more useful than committing to a long outdoor outing.
