November feels cool and autumnal in Suzhou, Anhui. Afternoons reach about 16°C, but mornings and evenings can feel chilly as lows fall to 4°C. Rain is fairly light, though showers can interrupt a day out. You'll get some sun, but the shorter days leave less time for long outings.

It's a good month for city sightseeing and a walk among the trees at Huangzangyu National Forest Park. Skip plans that depend on warm weather or a full day outdoors; the cold can bite after sunset.

What's on

There isn't a major local November festival I can confidently point you to, and China has no nationwide public holiday this month. Singles' Day, on November 11, is a big online shopping event, not a reason to expect celebrations around Suzhou's sights.

If you hate crowds, November is a quieter choice than October. October is one of Suzhou's best months, but China's National Day holiday can bring more domestic travellers and push up demand. November is outside that holiday rush, so you're more likely to find a calmer visit and less pressure on accommodation.

Make the most of it

The cooler weather suits exploring Suzhou's local streets and taking a forest walk without summer heat. But don't leave a long Huangzangyu outing until late in the day: daylight is shorter, and the return can feel cold once the sun drops.

Travelling with kids? Keep the plan flexible if rain arrives, and save the forest park for a clearer day. A local tip: Huangzangyu is in Xiaoxian County, so check the journey from central Suzhou before setting off. It's not the same as the famous gardens in Suzhou, Jiangsu. Dress for the cooler evening if you're staying out to eat.
