July weather in Kuta

July is warm and mostly sunny, with comfortable days for Kuta Beach, surf lessons and wandering the shops along Jalan Legian. Humidity stays high, so the air can still feel sticky, especially around midday. Rain is less common than in June, but showers can still interrupt a beach afternoon.

The sea and beach are easy to enjoy between showers. For a calmer sightseeing break, visit the nearby Vihara Dharmayana, one of Kuta's old Chinese temples. Don't count on every day being cloud-free, and save long outdoor plans for when the sun's out.

Events and holiday crowds

The Bali Arts Festival often runs into July at Taman Werdhi Budaya in Denpasar. You can catch traditional dance, music and crafts there; it's a good change of pace from Kuta's beach scene.

July is high season. Australian winter school holidays and European summer breaks bring more visitors, busier beaches and higher hotel prices than in the wetter months. Kuta's sunset strip and Jalan Legian can feel especially crowded in the evening.

If you hate crowds, spend the afternoon around Tuban, south of central Kuta, then return to the beach later.

Make the most of your stay

July is among the best months for Bali, but Kuta isn't quiet or especially cool. Surfing and beach time work well, while a long midday walk through busy streets can feel tiring. For an easy evening, watch the sunset from Kuta Beach, then try nasi campur: rice served with small portions of different dishes.

For a practical local tip, use the beach to walk between central Kuta and Tuban when traffic on Jalan Kartika Plaza slows to a crawl. Check the tide first, as the shoreline route isn't equally easy at every tide.
