June is hot and increasingly wet. Daytime highs reach 37°C, while nights stay warm at around 25°C. Rain falls on 15 days, and cloud cover often softens the sun, but the heat can still feel draining.

What to expect

June isn't a set date for a major festival in Kano. Eid al-Adha sometimes falls in June, but its date moves each year; when it does, Kano's Durbar celebrations may follow. The Durbar features horsemen and is a major local event.

If you hate crowds, June may suit you better than December or January, Kano's best months for weather. Visitor numbers are generally lower, and prices may be easier to find than in those popular months. Don't expect perfect sightseeing weather: June brings more rain than May, and July is wetter still.
