Mild, damp winter days

December in Hamilton feels mild rather than cold, with highs around 21°C and lows near 19°C. But rain falls on about 15 days, and the sky is often cloudy, so expect showers and some grey stretches. The sea can feel cool, and this isn't the month for long, lazy beach days.

December is winter and generally a quieter, lower-season time than Bermuda's busier summer months. You'll usually find fewer visitors than in peak season, and hotel prices are often lower. The trade-off is changeable weather, with more rain than November; January is rainier still.

For a practical rainy-day stop, head to the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo in nearby Flatts. It's an easy bus ride from Hamilton and gives you an indoor option when a shower interrupts your plans. If you're staying in Hamilton, ask about the route before boarding, as not every bus goes there.
