November feels wet

November is warm by day and mild at night, but rain shapes most visits. The data shows rain on 26 days, with heavy cloud and little sunshine. Streets and paths can turn muddy, and showers may interrupt time outdoors.

November falls well outside Gitega's best-weather stretch, which runs from June to September. You're likely to find fewer visitors than in those drier months, and accommodation may cost less, though prices vary. The trade-off is plain: frequent rain makes sightseeing less predictable.

For a practical local tip, ask your guesthouse about the road to Gishora before you go. If it's muddy, stay in town and visit the museum instead. That gives you a worthwhile day without a difficult trip in wet conditions.
