Dodoma Weather in June

Cool, dry days

June feels mild and sunny in Dodoma, with warm afternoons and cool evenings. Rain is rare, so you can walk around Nyerere Square or visit the Jamatkhana without dodging showers. The clear skies also suit a day trip through the surrounding countryside. There's less reason to plan around rain than in May, though July is even drier.

If you dislike sticky heat, June is a comfortable month for sightseeing. Take a break indoors during the warmest part of the day, then head out again as the evening cools. Don't expect a beach visit: Dodoma is inland, and June's dry weather won't change that.

Events and local days

June doesn't have a major fixed national holiday in Tanzania, so the city's routine is usually easier to follow than during a big public celebration. Eid al-Adha can fall in June in some years, but its date shifts with the lunar calendar. If it coincides with your visit, expect some businesses to close or change hours.
