Chattogram Weather in April

April: hot and humid

April in Chattogram feels sticky, especially around midday. The high reaches 33°C, and humidity sits at 72%. Rain falls on 10 days, but showers don't usually make the whole day a washout. You'll get more sun than cloud, so Patenga Beach can still work for a breezy late-day visit.

The heat makes long walks around the Ethnological Museum or Foy's Lake tiring. Save those for cooler hours, and skip exposed hill walks when the sun is fierce. May brings much more rain, while March is drier and slightly less hot.

New Year celebrations

You may find hotels and transport less pressured, though prices vary and the New Year holiday can bring a local rush. It's a trade-off: warmer days, but more room at popular sights outside the celebrations.

For an April visit to Patenga, take a CNG auto-rickshaw from the city and aim for late afternoon. The sea breeze can make the waterfront feel better than the inland streets. Travelling with kids? Keep the beach visit short, then try Chattogram's rich mezban beef at a local restaurant.
