Warm days in the city

March feels hot by midday in Chattogram, with highs around 32°C and warm evenings. There's plenty of sun, and rain usually comes in a few short spells rather than lasting all day. The weather is still good for a visit, but it's less comfortable than January and February.

You can explore the Ethnological Museum or take in the views from Foy's Lake, then save longer walks for cooler parts of the day. The Patenga seafront is pleasant later on, though the sun can feel strong there. Avoid planning a long, exposed trek in the midday heat.

March isn't as cool as the winter peak, but it's still before the heavier April rain. Crowds and room prices are often calmer than in January and February, when the weather is more comfortable. You may find a better deal, though prices vary with local events and demand.

Make the most of March

Rainfall is modest compared with April, but showers can still interrupt a day out. Keep indoor options such as the Ethnological Museum in mind if the sky turns grey. For a beach day, nearby Cox's Bazar tends to have better weather this month, though the trip takes you out of Chattogram.

A useful local tip: visit the seafood stalls around Patenga later in the day, when the seafront is cooler and you can try fresh fish. Don't count on a quiet waterfront around sunset; locals come out then too.
