October weather in Anyang

October is one of Anyang's best months for a visit. Afternoons are mild, evenings turn cool, and the air is less humid than in September. There's some rain, but it's usually limited to a few days, leaving plenty of time for outdoor plans.

You can explore the Yin Xu ruins and its museum comfortably, or take a day trip toward the Taihang Mountains. The cooler weather suits walking far better than summer heat. Still, don't count on a full beach-style day outdoors: daylight is shorter, and evenings can feel chilly.

National Day crowds

China's National Day holiday falls at the start of October. It brings a week-long break, so popular sights such as Yin Xu can be much busier then. Trains and hotels also tend to cost more than in quieter parts of the month.

If you're travelling with children, the holiday period can feel lively but crowded. For calmer visits and better value, choose later in October, after holiday travel settles down. Compared with September, October is cooler and drier; November is cooler still.

Make room for Yin Xu

Give Yin Xu enough time to see its excavation sites and oracle-bone displays without rushing. The site is spread out, so comfortable walking shoes are useful here. A taxi or local ride can help with the journey between Anyang's centre and the ruins.

For history fans, October's pleasant days make a long visit easier than in the hotter months. Check the holiday dates before choosing your travel days, especially if Yin Xu is high on your list. You'll get a more relaxed visit outside the National Day rush.
