Anshan Weather in June

Warm days, frequent showers

June feels summery in Anshan, with warm afternoons and cooler evenings. The average high is 28°C and the low is 16°C. Rain falls on 14 days, so showers can interrupt a long walk, though you'll still get around six hours of sun a day.

It's a good month for exploring the Jade Buddha Palace or taking shorter walks around Qianshan. The hills can be slippery after rain, so save steep trails for a dry spell. July is hotter and much wetter, while May is cooler and drier.

June events and crowds

The Dragon Boat Festival sometimes falls in June. It's a public holiday in China, and you may find local celebrations and rice dumplings called zongzi. Its date follows the lunar calendar, so it doesn't land in June every year.

If you hate crowds, June is often calmer than the main summer holiday period in July and August. It can also offer better value than busier spring and autumn months, when the weather is usually more comfortable. Around the festival, though, trains and popular sights may be busier.

Make the most of Qianshan

Travelling with kids? Keep a flexible plan for Qianshan: enjoy the temple area or a short path when the weather's clear, then head back if rain sets in. Cloud cover is common, so distant mountain views may be hazy.

For a practical local stop, visit the Anshan Jade Buddha Palace near 219 Park on a wet afternoon. It's indoors, and the jade Buddha is the main attraction. If you're hoping to hike, ask at your hotel which Qianshan paths are open after heavy rain. The hills can get slick, and a shorter route is more pleasant than pushing on through a downpour.
