March is warm and mostly sunny in Virar. Days reach about 29°C, and nights stay warm, around 25°C. It's usually dry, with just one rainy day in the month, so beach time and outdoor sightseeing are more dependable than in the monsoon.

You can visit Arnala Beach or take the ropeway up to Jivdani Temple, but the midday heat can make the temple climb tiring. Keep long walks for cooler parts of the day, and save indoor stops for the hottest hours. April is hotter, while February is a little cooler.

Holi and local life

Holi may fall in March, though its date changes each year. Virar's celebrations can bring colour and noise to local streets, so check the festival date before choosing a quiet beach day. It's a lively time to see the town with residents, but public transport and nearby shops may follow holiday hours.

Families with young children may prefer Arnala Beach on a non-Holi day, when the outing is less crowded and easier to keep calm.

It may feel busier than the quieter wet months, especially around Holi, but it's generally past the cooler winter period. There's no clear reason to expect a big price drop in March; local demand can rise around the holiday.

For Jivdani Temple, take an auto from Virar station to the ropeway base rather than walking uphill from town. The ride saves effort in the heat, and you can still enjoy the views from the hilltop.
