Mild days, cool evenings

November feels comfortable for walking around Tijuana. Afternoons are mild, while evenings cool off, so you can explore Avenida Revolución or browse the galleries at CECUT without the heat of summer. There's some rain, but it falls on only a few days, and most days still bring several hours of sun.

The coast can feel cooler and cloudier than downtown. You can visit Playas de Tijuana for a walk along the border fence, but don't count on a long, warm beach day. If rain arrives, spend the afternoon at CECUT or over tacos in Zona Río instead.

Día de Muertos and local life

Día de Muertos, celebrated in early November, brings altars and tributes for loved ones. You may see these at cultural venues around the city, including CECUT. It's a meaningful time to learn about the tradition, though celebrations vary from year to year.

If you hate crowds, avoid assuming the US holiday calendar applies everywhere. Tijuana's Mexican Revolution Day holiday can bring local events and a busier city, while US Thanksgiving can affect cross-border travel. Check your route if you're crossing between San Diego and Tijuana around either holiday.

Quieter than October

November is often a calmer, better-value time than October, which is warmer and drier. It's also a good choice for a city break before December brings more rain. You'll still find plenty to do, but don't expect summer beach weather.

For a Tijuana-specific treat, order the Caesar salad at Caesar's on Avenida Revolución, where the dish was created. Travelling with kids? Pair lunch with a visit to nearby Plaza Santa Cecilia, then head to CECUT if the afternoon turns wet.
