October: rain returns

October feels hot, sticky and often cloudy in Tangerang. Highs stay around 31°C, while nights remain warm. Rain falls on many days, and the sunshine can be brief, so outdoor plans may need to bend around showers.

You can still visit indoor sights such as Museum Benteng Heritage in Pasar Lama, or eat your way through the area's Chinese-Indonesian food stalls. Tangerang's laksa is a local favourite. Save long outdoor walks for a dry spell, and don't count on a full beach day or clear views from a riverside stroll.

October has no fixed, major citywide festival in Tangerang. Indonesian public holidays can fall in October in some years, as Islamic holiday dates move with the lunar calendar. Check the year's calendar if you're hoping to avoid holiday traffic.

If you hate crowds, October can feel calmer than the drier months of August and September, though weekends around Pasar Lama still draw diners. Prices may also be easier than in the busier dry season, but they vary by hotel and holiday dates. Rain is heavier in November, so October can be a useful middle ground if you don't mind wet afternoons.

Make the most of a wet day

The weather's poor for long outdoor sightseeing, but short visits between showers can still work well.
