June feels hot and close, with warm nights and plenty of humidity. Rain falls on about half the days, but showers don't usually rule out a whole day. You'll get some sunshine between clouds, too.

Road Town's shops and the shops around Main Street make an easy stop when rain passes. For a swim, head to Cane Garden Bay, or take a boat trip around the islands when the sea is calm. Long, exposed hikes can feel sticky in the heat, so save Sage Mountain's shaded trails for a less humid spell. What's on in June?

June isn't a peak festival month in Road Town. The BVI Emancipation Festival, with music and parades, takes place later in summer, not in June. You may see events for the King's official birthday, a public holiday observed in the British Virgin Islands, but celebrations can vary.

If you hate crowds, June is a quieter choice than the busy December-to-April season. Visitor numbers and accommodation prices are generally lower than in those popular winter months. July tends to be wetter than June, though June can still bring showers.

For The Baths on Virgin Gorda, take a ferry from Road Town to Spanish Town, then a taxi to the park. Check ferry times locally, as the onward trip depends on connections. Pack a small dry bag for your phone and snacks; it's handy on the boat and at the rocky shore.
