Cool, changeable days

June feels more like a cool, damp spring day than a warm summer break. Rain comes often, and cloud can hide the mountains around Nuuk. You'll still get long daylight for wandering the old harbour, visiting the Greenland National Museum or taking a boat trip into Nuuk Fjord when conditions allow.

The ground can be wet and exposed trails feel chilly, so don't count on a comfortable beach day or a long hike in every kind of weather. Keep plans flexible; the museum is a good fallback when the fjord is rough.

Greenland's National Day falls on June 21, and Nuuk marks it with local celebrations. You may see traditional clothing, music and gatherings around the city, including near the colonial harbour.
