Ningbo Weather in November

Cool, changeable days

November feels like proper autumn in Ningbo. Afternoons are mild, but evenings turn cool, and the sky is often cloudy. Rain comes on several days, so your plans may need to shift. It's still a good month for Tianyi Pavilion, the old library and garden, or a slow wander around the Old Bund between showers.

The coast is less tempting for a beach day, and damp weather can make longer outdoor walks feel chilly. Save a clear spell for Dongqian Lake, then warm up with Ningbo tangyuan, sweet rice balls often served in broth.

A quieter month

November has no major, fixed Ningbo festival that draws visitors citywide. Singles' Day, China's big online shopping event, falls on November 11, but it's mainly an online occasion rather than a reason to travel.

If you hate crowds, you'll likely find Ningbo calmer than in October, one of the city's best months to visit. November is outside the main summer holiday rush, too. Hotels and flights may be easier to find, though prices vary with local events and demand. Don't expect every attraction to feel empty, especially on weekends.

Make the most of a rainy spell

With rain spread across the month, keep an indoor stop ready for a wet afternoon. Ningbo Museum is a good choice: its striking building and exhibits give you time out of the drizzle without leaving the city.

Travelling with kids? Pair the museum with a meal near Tianyi Square, where you can duck indoors if rain sets in. For a practical local tip, use Ningbo's metro to reach Gulou, then walk to Tianyi Pavilion; it's an easier way to link the sights than crossing town on foot in damp weather. November has less daylight than October, so leave longer outdoor outings for the brighter part of the day.
