March weather in Ningbo

March feels cool, damp and often grey. Afternoons reach about 16°C, but mornings and evenings can feel chilly, especially near the water. Rain falls on many days, and the high humidity can make the air feel clammy. You'll get some sunny spells, but don't count on a clear day.

Events and holiday crowds

If you hate crowds, March is a calmer choice than October, Ningbo's best-known month for pleasant weather. Hotels are generally less in demand than during October and summer holidays, though prices still vary by weekend and local events.

Rain totals are higher than in February, and April is slightly drier, so keep outdoor plans easy to change. A wet afternoon can be a good time to try Ningbo tangyuan: soft rice balls, often filled with black sesame.
