February feels damp and cool

February in Nanchang is winter, with cool days and chilly evenings. Rain falls on many days, and thick cloud can make the city feel greyer than the mild daytime high suggests. You'll want indoor stops in your day: the Jiangxi Provincial Museum works well when the drizzle sets in, while Tengwang Pavilion is still worth seeing between showers.

The weather is less suited to long walks around Aixi Lake or lingering outdoors after dark. March is warmer, but it's also much wetter, so February can suit a city break if you're happy to duck indoors.
