November feels warm

November is a welcome step down from October's stronger heat, but Jeddah still feels summery. Afternoons can be hot, while evenings are more comfortable for a stroll along the Corniche. With plenty of sunshine and little rain, you can enjoy sea views and outdoor cafés most days.

Al-Balad's historic lanes are worth exploring, but save a long walk there for later in the day. The same goes for wandering the waterfront. Skip strenuous outdoor sightseeing in the afternoon, when the heat can wear you down. Rain is uncommon, though a brief shower is possible.

What's on

November doesn't bring a fixed nationwide holiday to Jeddah. Saudi National Day falls in September, and Founding Day is in February, so you won't find either holiday here this month. Jeddah may host concerts or other events, but dates change from year to year.

If you're hoping for a particular show, check the local calendar once your travel dates are set. For a taste of the city without an event ticket, try sayadiyah, a local fish-and-rice dish, at a restaurant near the old town.

Crowds and local tips

November is a shoulder month: it's usually less busy than the cooler winter period, but weekends can still draw local visitors. Prices may be easier on your budget than in peak winter, though school breaks and major events can change that.

If you hate crowds, visit Al-Balad on a weekday. Travelling with kids? The cooler evening suits a Corniche walk better than an afternoon outing. If you're taking a ride to Al-Balad, ask to be dropped near its historic core; the narrow lanes are best explored on foot.
