Haiphong Weather in December

Cool, mostly dry days

Christmas and quieter streets

Christmas brings decorations and services at Haiphong's Catholic churches, while New Year's Eve adds a little extra activity around the city centre. December isn't known for a major local festival, so don't expect a packed events calendar.

If you hate crowds, you'll generally find Haiphong calmer than during major Vietnamese holiday periods. December is part of the cooler, drier stretch that draws visitors, though, so popular spots and Cat Ba connections can be busier than in the hot, rainy months. A good month for the city
